Discover Creative New Display at the Moody Center for the Arts

See the brand-new exhibit now on display at the Moody Center for the Arts! Entitled Pile the Wood High!, this exhibition brings together captivating works of sculpture, drawing, and collage and celebrates generational influences and enduring connections among art students and teachers who are also working artists.

Three generations of artists are represented in this riveting new show, including noted California sculptor Hirsch Perlman, chair of UCLA’s Department of Art; Lapinski, who was a graduate student of Perlman’s at Art Center College of Design in Pasadena in the 1990s; and Anna Helm, Lapinski’s student at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. The title, Pile the Wood High!, points to the exhibition’s playful tone as well as the showcased materials—finished hardwoods used by each artist— including abstract wooden figures and intricately painted cloths. It is a thought-provoking display that is as expressive as it is striking, so make sure you see it in person at the Moody Center for the Arts!
