Improv Comedy Club and Dinner Theatre is the career launching pad for dozens of the familiar faces of television and film. From filmmakers such as Wes Anderson and Matt Stone (both born here) to stand-up comics that honed their acts in our fair city like Bill Hicks, Sam Kinneson, Ralphie May and Brett Butler. With recognition as the breeding ground, it’s no question that Houston has birthed legendary comedic talent over the years.
Today, the Improv continues to showcase performers well on their way to join the ranks of the Improv’s famous veterans. Houston Improv's Open Mic Night returns to the Houston Improv, featuring comics from HBO, Comedy Central, and mostly down the street.
