Spend an Evening with the Artist at the Hooks-Epstein Galleries Latest Exhibit

Don’t miss the special opening reception happening at the Hooks-Epstein Galleries as it presents "Chromatic Fantasy: A Complement of Color," the latest body of work on display from Edward Lane McCartney! The evening will feature an exclusive panel art discussion between the artist and Joseph Havel, the Director of the Glassell School of Art at the Museum of Fine Arts Houston. It’s a rare chance to meet this internationally-acclaimed artist!

All of the pieces presented in this incredible collection embody McCartney’s signature style, made from a juxtaposition of multiple different mediums like paper products, puzzle pieces, found cardboard, and the foiled boxes in which his toothpaste came. His newest work finds McCartney taking up the mantle of scale and site, with artwork ranging in size from feet, to inches, to fractions of inches. It’s a kinetic experience that you have to see to believe, and the special discussion scheduled for December 16th makes the gallery work come alive in a whole new, intimate way. Be sure to mark your calendar for this incredible event!
