The O'Jays have been inducted into several renowned music halls of fame since forming in 1963. Following the group's first major hit "Back Stabber" was the group’s international hit "Love Train.” Since then, The O'Jays have maintained a fairly successful recording and performance career throughout the decades, and continue to perform with the same vim and vigor the trio's fans have come to expect.
Stephanie Mills rose to fame as "the little girl with the big voice" in the hit Broadway play, The Wiz. She had many R&B hits such as "I Have Learned to Respect the Power of Love," "I Feel Good All Over," "(You're Puttin') A Rush on Me," and "Home," along with one certified, million-selling single, "Never Knew Love Like This Before." In addition, she also had five gold albums.
Signed to Mercury Records in 1976, Con Funk Shun enjoyed a decade of successful national and overseas tours, eleven chart-topping albums, and numerous hit singles, including a Billboard magazine "Number One With A Bullet" hit single on the Top R&B Singles chart.
El DeBarge was the lead singer of the family group DeBarge. Popular songs led by him include "Time Will Reveal," "Stay with Me," and "Rhythm of the Night". As a solo artist, he is best known for "Who's Johnny" and "Love Always," and for his collaborations with George Clinton, Quincy Jones, and others.
